Jean Marion (White) Beath

BEATH, Jean Marion (White)—Jean Beath, born September 24, 1921 in Dryden, Ontario, passed away at the Toronto East General Hospital on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at the age of 88 years.
Cherished wife of the late Jim Beath. Jean has been a very loving and loved mother of Linda (Sabatino), Jo Anne, Janice (Dean) and Jacquelin (Michael). She loved and treasured her grandchildren Kate (Andres), Aimée, Adrienne, Simon (Reesa), Bronwen (Joel) and Erin and was enchanted by her great-grandson Lucas. Jean will be dearly missed by sister Shirley and sister-in-law Helen, her cousin May Kerr and niece Betty Jean Grant. Our family have admired and been inspired by her fine example as a devoted wife and caring parent, her gracious nature, thoughtfulness for others and her loyalty to friends and family. She is predeceased by her sisters Pat, 'Peg' and 'Bobby'. After training at Hotel Dieu Hospital, Port Arthur in 1943, Jean started her nursing career in Dryden, Ontario. Throughout Jim's military career, she served graciously by supporting him in his roles and she held the 'home fort' during frequent travel periods. She was bitten by the antiques collecting bug, and as a second career, bought and sold antiques. Jean and Jim have made strong, loyal friendships at their homes in Ontario, England and Virginia. Jean will be much remembered and mourned by family and lifelong friends around the world. Our family extends our sincere gratitude to the medical team at the Toronto East General Hospital for the constant caring, gentleness and kindness of every single team member. We wish to express our appreciation for the hospital team's unfailing support and careful attention to Jean. Memorial contributions may be made to Toronto East General Hospital Foundation.
