"Sackett Dies at 76 In Rug City.
Amsterdam—Blair Sackett, 76, of 35 McDonnell St., a former Town of Perth assessor and Perth school trustee, died Friday in St. Mary's Hospital.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at the Funeral House of Johnson-Lindsay, with the Rev. James A. Perry officiating. Burial will be in Hagaman Cemetery.
Mr. Sackett was born at Afton, N.Y., and had lived since 1910 in the Montgomery-Fulton County area where he was engaged in farming. Prior to his retirement he worked as a groom at Mohawk Lake.
Mr. Sackett served for several years as a Town of Perth assessor and also was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Perth School District. He was a member of the Hagaman Methodist Church, a member and past master of the Perthshire Grange, and a member of the Fulton and Montgomery County Farm Bureaus.
Surviving are his wife, Myrtle Kissinger Sackett; three daughters, Mrs. Floyd Mulligan of Schenectady, Mrs. Raymond C. Ilreath of Perth, and Mrs. Robert Hutton of Hagaman; one son, Nelson Sackett of Johnstown; a half-sister, Mrs. Floyd Le Barge of Laurens; a half-brother, Harry Broadwell of Oneonta; 18 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, also several nieces, nephews and cousins."
