Erastus Sacket, son of Joseph Sacket and Abigail Bigelow, was born in Westfield, Hampden County, MassachusettsG, on 7 June 1721.1,2,3 He died in about 1810. He married in WestfieldG on 11 June 1747, Elisabeth Leonard, daughter of Abel Leonard and Elisabeth ___.1,4,5,6,7,8 Elisabeth Leonard was born in 1730.1 She died aged 85 in Pittsfield, Berkshire CountyG, on 8 March 1816.9,10
     Erastus was received into membership of the First Church of Christ, PittsfieldG, on 11 August 1764.11 He was listed as head of a family of eight in a Pittsfield town census of 16 November 1772.12
     Erastus served in the American Revolutionary War in 1776 and 1777.13
     Erastus was included in a 1786 census of Pittsfield householders; his son Erastus Jr was also listed.14
     In 1790 Erastus was living in Pittsfield, Berkshire County, MassachusettsG. In his household were 2 men, 1 boy, and 4 females.15

[Erastus Sacket's] name appears in the list of patriots who, in August, 1776, marched from Pittsfield to Ticonderoga under command of Sergeant Caleb Goodrich, and remained in the field three months and a day. He is also credited with marching from Pittsfield in the latter part of June, 1777, under command of Capt. John Strong, to Fort Ann, and remaining in the field for three weeks and three days.
