Sarah Cramp, daughter of Peter Cramp and Susanna Sackett, was born in St Peter in Thanet, KentG, on 16 September 17711 and baptized at St Peter's ChurchG on 15 October 1771.1 She died aged 74 in ThanetG on 7 July 1846.2 She married at St Peter in ThanetG on 29 July 1789, Robert Tomlin.3 Robert was baptized at St John in Thanet, KentG, on 17 July 1770.4 He died aged 80 in 1850 and was buried on 11 October 1850. Their marriage, which took place just a few days before Sarah's grandfather, Richard Sackett, signed his will, making her his heiress, was announced in the London Morning Star in terms boastful both of the couple's wealth and of their youthfulness:
Yesterday, at St. Peter's Margate, Mr. TOMLIN, jun. of North Down, to Miss CRAMP, with a fortune of, at least, £60,000. Taking their ages together, two-and thirty will be the amount.

Although both young at marriage, their combined ages would have been 36 rather than 32. The £60,000 would be quite a few millions in today's money.5
Sarah was named as a beneficiary in her grandfather Richard Sackett's will made in East Northdown, St John's, ThanetG, on 4 August 1789. Sarah was the main beneficiary and was to inherit absolutely a house in St Lawrence and was also bequeathed a life interest in all of Richard's other realty with reversion to her own children after her death.6
