Caroline Sackett, daughter of Friederich Wilhelm Johann Theodor Saegert (Fred Sackett) and Hanna Friederike Marie Luise "Johanna" Pegler/Peglow, was born in New York StateG in 1879. She died aged 70 in Honeoye Falls, Monroe County, New York StateG, on 28 July 1949 and was buried at Honeoye Falls CemeteryG.1 She married in Pittsford, Monroe CountyG, on 31 December 1895, Charles Batzel, son of Charles C Batzel and Louise M Wallman.2 Charles was born in New York StateG on 1 April 1877.3 He died aged 89 in Rochester, Monroe County, New York StateG, on 10 November 1966 and was buried at Honeoye Falls CemeteryG.3,4,5
     In 1880 Caroline was living in Victor, Ontario County, New York StateG, in the household of her parents Fred and Annie, and was recorded in the census as Caroline Sackett, aged one and born in New York.6
     In 1892 she was living in Mendon, Monroe County, New York StateG, in the household of her parents Fred and Anna, and was recorded as Carrie Sackett, aged 14.7
     In 1900 she was living in MendonG in the household of her husband Charles Batzel, 23, a farmer, and was recorded as Carrie Batzel, aged 21. Their son Otis, aged two, was living with them.8
     In 1910 she was living at The Cheese Factory Road, MendonG, in the household of her husband Charles, 33, a farmer, and was recorded as Caroline Batzel, aged 32. Living with them were their children, Raymond, 11, and Burt, aged two. Also in the household were a female servant, a male farm laborer, and a male boarder.9
     In 1920 she was living at Honeoye Falls Ionia Road, West Bloomfield, Ontario CountyG, in the household of her husband Charles, 42, a farmer, and was recorded as Caroline Batzel, aged 41. Their son Burt, 12, was living with them. There was also a farm laborer in the household.10
     In 1930 she was living at Tucker Meeting House Road, MendonG, in the household of her husband Charles, 53, farm manager, and was recorded as Caroline Batzel, aged 51. Living with them were their son Burt, 22, his wife Helen, 22, and Charles's father, also Charles, 79. There was also a farm laborer in the household.11

Mrs. Carrie Batzel, 70, of Honeoye Falls
     A funeral service for Mrs. Carrie Batzel, 70, of Quaker Meeting House Rd., Honeoye Falls, who died Thursday (July 28, 1949), will be held at 2:30 p. m. tomorrow at the home. Burial will be in Honeoye Falls Cemetery.
     Mrs. Batzel, an active member of the Presbyterian Church of Honeoye Falls for many years, and her husband, Charles, observed their golden wedding anniversary Dec. 31, 1945.
     Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Raymond and Burton; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Fredericks and Mrs. William Batzel, both of Avon; three brothers, Fred Sackett of West Bloomfield, George Sackett of Honeoye Falls, and Carl Sackett of Rochester; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
