James Horton Sackett, son of Nathaniel Sackett and Bethiah Reynolds, was born about 1799.1,2 He died aged 47 in Woodbridge, New JerseyG, on 11 April 1846.3 He married at St George's Chapel, New York CityG, on 15 July 1830, Jerusha Post, daughter of William Post and Catherine Van Buren.2,4 After James's death Jerusha married second in New York CityG on 29 September 1855 Seaborn Goodall of Savannah, Georgia.5,6
     James was named in his father's will made in Bedford, New York StateG, on 13 March 1812.7
     In 1850 James's widow Jerusha was living in Brooklyn, New York City, New York StateG, and was recorded in the census as Jerusha Sacket, aged 26 and born in New York (this age was clearly wrong but the household context suggests that this must have been James's widow). Living with her were her children, William, 18, Jerusha, 12, James, 11, Frances, 10, and Sarah, aged six.8
