Richard Sackett, yeoman of St Peter in Thanet, Kent, son of John Sackett and Ann/Agnes Sampson, was born in St Peter in ThanetG on 8 March 1600/1 and baptized there on 13 March 1600/1.1 He died aged 34 when he "fell over the cliffe" and was buried at St Peter in ThanetG on 26 January 1635/36.2 He married at Swalecliffe, KentG, on 31 January 1619/20, Susan Lunce, daughter of Joan Lunce.3,4 Susan was born in about 1602.5 After Richard's death, Susan married second at St Peter in ThanetG on 1 May 1639, William Dunkin, vicar of St Lawrence in Thanet.6 Susan died aged about 59 as the widow of William Dunkin on 24 February 1661/62 and was buried at St Peter in ThanetG on 27 February 1661/62.7
     Richard was named as a beneficiary in his father's will made at St Peter in ThanetG on 8 February 1623/24.8 He was to inherit his father's farm and lands at East Northdown and a house at Margate near to the sea. Richard was an executor of the estate, jointly with his brothers William and John.
     Richard was named as a beneficiary in his mother's will made at Swalecliffe on 31 January 1630/31.9 He was left a sum of five shillings.
