James Donald Sackett, son of Mathew Dunham Sackett and Bertha Belle King, was born in Richland, Jones County, IowaG, on 15 August 19231 and baptized at Richland Center Presbyterian Church, Monticello, Jones CountyG, on 20 June 1926.2 He died aged 84 in Cedar Rapids, Linn County, IowaG, on 11 January 2008.3
     In 1930 James was living in South Fork, Delaware County, IowaG, in the household of his parents Mathew and Bertha, and was recorded in the census as James B Sackett, aged six and born in Iowa.4
     In 1940 he was living in Lovell, Jones CountyG, in the household of his brother Roy and sister-in-law Ina, and was recorded as James D Sackett, a farm laborer, aged 16.5
