Kathleen Mary Simms, daughter of James Simms and Amelia Violet Muriel Sackett, was born in Holborn, LondonG, on 8 January 1912.1,2 She died aged 72 in St Albans, HertfordshireG, in February 1984.3 She married at St Albans, HertfordshireG, in 1939, Walter S Goodrum.4
     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Kathleen was living at 48 Heath Road, St Albans, HertfordshireG, in the household of her widowed mother Amelia. Kathleen was then aged 27, single, and was employed as a tailor's machinist.5
