Robert Squire Mockett, son of Isaac Mockett and Sarah Sole, was born in St Peter in Thanet, KentG, in 1810 and baptized at St Peter in ThanetG on 22 August 1810.1,2 He married at St Peter's ChurchG on 26 December 1832, Mary Hobbs.3
     Robert and Mary had three children, Richard Hobbs Mockett, John Hobbs Mockett, and Elizabeth Mockett, all born in Thanet. The family emigrated in 1850 to New York and from there to Wisconsin. The three children married three siblings, the children of Ebenezer and Theodocia (Phillips) Ellis. The marriages, all in Wisconsin, were: Richard Hobbs Mockett to Sophronia Ellis in 1861; John Hobbs Mockett to Julia Ellis in 1860; and Elizabeth Mockett to Edwin Ellis in about 1868.4
