John Ridout, son of Thomas Frank Ridout and Alice Kate Hogbin, was born in Herne Bay, KentG, in about 1902.1
     In 1911 John was living at 2 William Street, Herne BayG, in the household of his parents Thomas and Alice, and was recorded in the census as John Ridout, aged eight and born in Herne Bay.2
     John and his cousin Harry Ridout proved John's father Thomas's will on 13 January 1953. His estate was valued at £8,966.3
