Fletcher Sperry, son of Samuel Sperry and Mary Colley Pennington, was born in PennsylvaniaG in about 1835.1 He married in about 1856, Esther Ann ___.2
     In 1850 Fletcher was living in Davidson Township, Sullivan County, PennsylvaniaG, in the household of his parents Samuel and Mary, and was recorded in the census as Flesher Sperry, aged 15 and born in Pennsylvania. His occupation was "farming", presumably on his father's farm.3
     In 1860 he was living in Davidson TownshipG and was recorded as Fletcher Sperry, a farmer, aged 24 and born in Pennsylvania. His real estate was valued at $600 and personal estate at $800. Living with him were his wife Esther, 23, and their children, Rosa, 3, and Flora, aged one month. Also in the household was a Samuel S Sperry, 50. This was not Fletcher's father Samuel, who was living with his wife Mary and other children on a neighbouring farm.4
