James Pilcher Sackett, son of John Sackett and Elizabeth Pilcher, was baptized at St John in ThanetG on 11 October 1840.1,2 He died aged 183 and was buried at St Gregory, Canterbury, KentG, on 26 September 1858.4
     An 1841 census record for a Jane Sackett, aged ten months, in the household of John and Elizabeth Sackett at Cranbourne Alley, St John, Margate, KentG, is taken to be an enumeration error for James Sackett.5
     In 1851 James was living at Mount Pleasant, Canterbury, KentG, in the household of his parents, John and Elizabeth, and was recorded in the census as James P Sackett, a scholar aged ten and born in Margate, Kent.6
