Ann Harris Jarman, daughter of Thomas Isaac Jarman and Elizabeth Smith (Streaem) Hammond, was born in St Lawrence in Thanet, KentG, in 18441,2 and baptized there on 8 September 1844.3
     In 1851 Ann was living at 6 Frederick Place, St Lawrence in ThanetG, in the household of her parents Thomas and Elizabeth, and was recorded in the census as Ann Jarman, aged seven and born in St Lawrence.4
     In 1861 she was living at Hereson, St Lawrence in ThanetG, in the household of her widowed father Thomas, and was recorded as Ann H Jarman, aged 16.5
