Gilbert Stephen Woodward, son of Frederick William Woodward and Emma Harriet Sackett, was born in St Peter in Thanet, KentG, on 10 June 1890.1,2,3 He died aged 85 in ThanetG in 1976.4 He married at the Register Office, ThanetG, on 22 November 1913, Francis Bertha Amos, daughter of George Amos.5 Francis was born in East Ashford, KentG, in 1891.6
     In 1891 Gilbert was living at 2 Farley Cottages, St Peter in ThanetG, in the household of his parents Frederick and Emma, and was recorded in the census as Gilbert S Woodward, aged ten months and born in Broadstairs.7
     In 1901 he was living at 2 Farley CottagesG in the household of his parents Frederick and Emma, and was recorded as Gilbert S Woodward, aged ten and born in Broadstairs.8
     In 1911 he was living at 2 Farley CottagesG in the household of his parents Fredrick and Emma, and was recorded as Gilbert Woodward, a carpenter and joiner, aged 23.9
