Benjamin Carter, son of Benjamin Carter and Lydia Sackett, was born in Warren, Connecticut^G, on 5 March 1797^1,2 and died aged 71 in Edinburgh, Ohio^G, on 21 November 1868.¹ He married first in Warren^G on 1 January 1822, Sally Hopkins, daughter of Anthony Paddock Hopkins and Jemima Weed.¹ Sally was born in Warren^G on 30 November 1798¹ and died aged 53 in Edinburgh^G on 3 December 1851.¹ He married second on 11 May 1854, Clarinda Warner, daughter of Jonathan Warner and Clarinda Elliott, and widow of Rev Hart Talcott of Warren.¹
