William F Whipple, son of Capt. George Whipple and Henrietta Sackett, was born in Westfield, Hampden County, MassachusettsG, in about 1831.1 He died there aged 34 on 3 August 18652 and was buried at Pine Hill Cemetery, WestfieldG.3 He married in WestfieldG on 3 May 1860, Jane M Dean.4 Jane was born in Hartford, ConnecticutG, in about 1837.5
William was named as a beneficiary in the will of his great-aunt Harriet Sacket made in WestfieldG on 29 October 1849. He was left a sum of $25 but, in the event, he predeceased his great-aunt.6
