Samuel Beck Iliff, teamster, son of William Wetherill Iliff and Susan Rich Gilbert, was born in Trevose, Bucks County, PennsylvaniaG, on 10 February 1855. He died aged 60 at 4823 Orianna Street, Philadelphia, PennsylvaniaG, on 4 March 1915 and was buried at the William Penn Cemetery, PhiladelphiaG. He married in Davisville, Bucks CountyG, on 23 February 1881, Sarah Catherine "Sallie" Tomlinson. Sallie was born in Southampton(ville), Bucks CountyG, in October 1858. She died aged 43 in Frankford, Philadelphia County, PennsylvaniaG, on 26 September 1902 and was buried at the William Penn CemeteryG.
     In 1880 Samuel was living at Bensalem, Bucks CountyG, in the household of Jacob and Deborah Randall, and was recorded in the census as Samuel B Iliff, a laborer, aged 24 and born in Pennsylvania. Also in the household was his 11-year-old nephew Charles Iliff.2
