James Arthur Ralph "Murph" Sackett, son of James Arthur "Art" Sackett and Lula Dell "Lou" McCool, was born in Crossfield, Alberta, CanadaG, on 17 May 1911.1 He died aged 81 in Calgary, AlbertaG, on 8 July 1992 and was buried at Queens Park Cemetery, CalgaryG.2 He married in CalgaryG on 8 March 1936, Rachel Christina "Rae" Goudie, daughter of Albert Edward Goudie and Minnie Hartley.1,3 Rachel was born in Plympton-Wyoming, OntarioG, on 8 August 1911.4 She died aged about 97 in 2008 and was buried at Queens Park Cemetery, CalgaryG.2
     In 1921 James was living in Rosebud Municipality, Calgary, Alberta, CanadaG, in the household of his parents James and Lula, and was recorded in the census as Jimmy Sackett, aged ten and born in Alberta.5

Sackett—James (Murph) Sackett, aged 81 years, passed away peacefully on July 8, 1992 at the Holy Cross Hospital. He is survived by his loving wife Rae of Calgary. He is also survived by three daughters, Alma (Chuck) Berridge of Lethbridge, Norma (Allan) Borbridge, Marion (Grant) Leavitt; and by one son Dell (Lavern) Sackett all of Calgary. At the family's request no Services will be held. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Murph's memory to the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation, 1820 Richmond Road S.W., Calgary, Alberta T2T 5C7. Cremation and arrangements in care of Heritage Family Funeral Services.
