Herbert H "Bert" Sackett, son of Cornelius Sackett and Rosanna Bailey, was born on 5 September 1855.1 He married Emma Lazear Jessup, daughter of John Jessup and Sarah Welch.1
In 1900 Herbert was living in Wayne, Steuben County, New York StateG, and was recorded in the census as Herbert Sackett, a farmer, head of household, aged 44. Living with him were his wife Emma, 45, and their children, Leland, 21, Alvie, 19, Cornelius, 16, Nat, 14, Clayton, 10, and Bert Jr, aged one.2
