Carl Clifton Gibbs, farmer, son of George DeForest Gibbs and Ida Elizabeth Sackett, was born in New Lyme, Ashtabula County, OhioG, on 13 January 1890.1,2,3 He married in Ripley, Chautauqua County, New York StateG, in November 1931, Mary I Kee, daughter of George Kee and Nancy Norman.4 Mary was born in Buck, Summers County, West VirginiaG, on 9 November 1871.3
     In 1900 Carl was living in New Lyme, OhioG, in the household of his parents DeForest and Ida, and was recorded in the census as Carl C Gibbs, at school, aged ten and born in Ohio.5
     In 1910 he was living at New LymeG in the household of his father George and stepmother Densie, and was recorded as Carl C Gibbs, aged 20.6
