Edward S Sackett, son of Hon William Augustus Sackett and Charlotte Granville Buttrick, was born in Seneca County, New York StateG, on 11 November 1852.1,2
In 1860 Edward was living at Coxsackie, Greene County, New York StateG, and was recorded in the census as E Stanley Sackett, aged eight and born in New York. He was living with his mother Charlotte in the household of a Hastings family.3
In 1865 he was living in Kirkland, Oneida County, New York StateG, in the household of his mother Charlotte, and was recorded as Stanley E Sackett, aged twelve and born in Seneca County.4
In 1870 he was living at Kirkland, Oneida County, New York StateG, in the household of his mother Charlotte, and was recorded as Edward Sackett, a student, aged 17.5
Edward was named as a beneficiary in his father William's will made at Saratoga SpringsG on 11 April 1889. He was to inherit a one-fifth share of his estate, adjusted for an advance of $3,000 already made, and with the proviso that the inheritance be held in trust for five years.6
