Andrew Parker "Chub" Sacket, son of Gad/James Sacket and Sally Jenette Parker, was born in Marine, Madison County, IllinoisG, on 13 February 1842.1 He died aged 83 at the Old Soldiers' Home, Danville, Vermillion County, IllinoisG, on 28 February 19252 and was buried at Danville National CemeteryG.3 He married in Boulder, ColoradoG, on 24 July 1883, Florence Croissant.4 Florence was born in New York StateG on 2 April 1853.5 She died aged 33 in BoulderG on 9 February 1887.5
In 1850 Andrew was living in Marine Settlement, Madison County, IllinoisG, in the household of his parents James and Sarah, and was recorded in the census as Andrew Sacket, aged eight and born in Illinois.6
In 1860 he was living in Marine Settlement, Madison County, IllinoisG, in the household of his parents James and Sally, and was recorded as Andrew Sackett, a laborer, aged 18.7
Andrew served from 1861 to 1864 in the American Civil War as a Union soldier in the 59th Regiment, Illinois Infantry.8,9,10
In 1870 he was living in Marine SettlementG in the household of his father James, and was recorded as Andrew Sackett, a farm hand, aged 28.11
In 1880 he was living in Boulder, ColoradoG, in the household of his brother Henry and sister-in-law Mary, and was recorded as Andrew Sacket, a farmer, aged 38.12
In 1900 he was living at East 4th Street, Pueblo, ColoradoG, and was recorded as Andrew Sacket, an expressman, head of household, aged 58, a widower. He owned his home freehold. Living with him were his daughter Mary, aged 16, and his unmarried sister Clarissa, aged 60.13
In 1910 he was living at East 4th Street, Pueblo, ColoradoG, and was recorded as Andrew Sackett, driver of an express wagon, head of household, aged 68, a widower. He owned his home. Living with him was his sister Clarissa, 70.14
In 1920 he was living at the Soldiers and Sailors Home, Rio Grande County, ColoradoG, and was recorded as Andrew Sacket, a widower, aged 78.15
Andrew was listed in the Pueblo, Colorado, City Directory from 1893 to 1919. His sister Clarissa was living with him as his housekeeper throughout this time.16
