Warwick Robert Harley Sackett, son of John Richard Sackett and Catherine Hewitt, was born in Shoreditch, MiddlesexG, on 17 January 18531,2 and baptized at St John the Baptist Church, ShoreditchG, on 15 May 1853.2 He died aged 31 in Hackney, MiddlesexG, in 1884.3 He married in ShoreditchG in 1876, Amelia Harriett Bowker, daughter of David Bowker.4,5 After Warwick's death, Amelia married second at St Barnabus Church, Finsbury, MiddlesexG, on 25 March 1888, George Dale, a tailor, son of Robert Dale.6,7
In 1861 Warwick was living at 10 Herbert Street, Tower Hamlets, ShoreditchG, and was recorded in the census as Warwick Sackett, a scholar, aged 8, born in Shoreditch, the son of John Richard Sackett.8
In 1871 he was living at 9 & 10 Herbert Street, St Leonards, Shoreditch, MiddlesexG, in the household of his parents John and Catherine, and was recorded as Warner [sic] A Sackett, a clicker, aged 18 and born in Middlesex.9
In 1881 he was living at 2 Montague Road, LondonG, and was recorded as Warwick Sackett, a clicker, boot trade, head of household, married, aged 28. Living with him were his wife Amelia, 27, and their children, Warwick, 4, and Alice, aged two.10
On 27 July 1887 Amelia, now a widow with four young children, was referred to the workhouse in ShoreditchG. She apparently found other means of support as the record states that she did not become chargeable.11
In 1891 Warwick's widow was living at 8 Pitfield Street, Shoreditch, LondonG, in the household of her second husband George Dale, 39, a tailor, and was recorded in the census as Amelia Dale, a tailoress, aged 35 and born in London. Living with them were Amelia's children by her first marriage, Warwick, Alice, and Ada Sackett; George's daughter Camonda by his first marriage; and George and Amelia's children, Constance, Lilian, and Gertrude.12
