Arthur Douglas Verdun Sackett, son of George Edward Sackett and Rosa Wilson, was born in Margate, KentG, on 30 December 19161,2 and baptized at St John in ThanetG on 18 February 1917.1 He died aged 59 in SurreyG in 1975.3 He married in Thanet, KentG, in 1939, Doreen F Hornby.4,5 Doreen was born in Barrow in Furness, LancashireG, on 16 April 19226 and died aged 83 in SurreyG in September 2005.7
     In 1921 Arthur was living at 7 Beatrice Road, MargateG, in the household of his parents George and Rosa, and was recorded in the census as Arthur D V Sackett, aged four and born in Margate.8
