Douglas Sackett, son of George Fegen Sackett and Laura Louisa Revell, was born in St Luke, Ramsgate, KentG, in 1920.1 He died aged 80 in Thanet, KentG, on 29 April 2000.2,3 He married in Ramsgate Christ Church, KentG, in 1941, Mabel Annie Doris Castle.4,5 Mabel was born in Paddington, LondonG, on 11 August 19216 and died aged 76 in ThanetG on 17 March 1998.7,8
     In 1921 Douglas was living at 16 Upper Dumpton Park Road, Ramsgate, KentG, in the household of his parents George and Laura, and was recorded in the census as Douglas Sackett, aged one and born in Broadstairs.9
     Douglas joined the British Post Office on 1 July 1940 as an unestablished skilled workman in the telephone manager's office in Canterbury. After the war, he re-joined in May 1945 as a skilled workman class II.10,11
     Mabel left a will which was proved in Brighton, SussexG, on 14 May 1998.8
     Douglas left a will which was proved in BrightonG on 2 June 2000.3
