Joan Mary Sackett, daughter of Arthur Digerson Sackett and Olive Mary Slocombe, was born in Thanet, KentG, on 21 March 1933.1,2 She died aged 79 in The Pilgrims Hospice, ThanetG, on 29 August 2012.3 She married in St George's Church, Ramsgate, KentG, on 29 August 1959, Gordon Leslie James Lamb, son of James Edward Lamb.4
     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Joan was a schoolgirl, living at 62 Manston Road, RamsgateG, with her parents Arthur and Olive.5
