He died aged 69 in Thanet, KentG, in 1925.1 James Uriah Miller Sackett, son of Francis "Frank" Sackett and Jane Elizabeth Miller, was born in Minster, KentG, in 1857.2,3 Harriet was born on 8 November 1858.4 He married at St Lawrence in ThanetG on 2 February 1878, Harriet Mirams5,6 and died aged about 92 in ThanetG in 1950.7
In 1861 James was living at Claremont Place, Ramsgate, KentG, in the household of his parents Francis and Jane, and was recorded in the census as James E Sackett, aged four and born in Minster.8
In 1871 he was living at 12 Bristol Place, RamsgateG, in the household of his parents Francis and Jane, and was recorded as James Sackett, a butcher, aged 14 and born in Broadstairs, Kent.9
In 1881 he was living at 4 Eagle Cottages, RamsgateG, and was recorded as James Sackett, a painter, head of household, married, aged 24 and born in Broadstairs, Kent. Living with him were his wife Harriet, 23, and their daughter Rosa, aged two.10
In 1891 he was living at 7 Bristol Place, RamsgateG, and was recorded as James U Sackett, a painter, head of household, married, aged 24 [actually 34] and born in Ramsgate. Living with him were his wife Harriett, 31, and children, Edith, 9, Florence, 7, Lilian, 3, and James, aged two.11
In 1901 he was living at 7 Bristol Place, RamsgateG, and was recorded as James U Sackett, a house painter, head of household, married, aged 46 and born in Ramsgate. Living with him were his wife Harriet, 41, and their children, Florence, 17, Lilian, 13, James, 12, and Albert, aged six.12
James and his brother Alfred proved their father Francis's will on 7 April 1902. His estate was valued at £289.
In 1911 James was living at 158 High Street, Ramsgate, KentG, and was recorded in the census as James Uriah Sackett, house painter, head of household, married, aged 58 [actually 54] and born in Ramsgate. Living with him were his wife Harriet, 52, their married daughter Florence, 27, and their son Albert, aged 16. Also in the household was a nephew, Harold Brown, aged 14.13
In 1921 he was living at 55 Boundary Road, RamsgateG, and was recorded as James Sackett, a house painter, head of household, aged 69 [actually 64]. His wife Harriet, 62, was living with him.14
At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, James's widow Harriet was living at 55 Boundary Road, Ramsgate, KentG, with her son Albert.15
