Simmons Sackett, son of Benjamin Sackett and Betty Eldred, was born in Warren, Litchfield County, ConnecticutG, on 8 December 17881,2 and baptized at the Congregational Church of Christ, WarrenG, on 29 June 1800.3 He died on 19 September 1863.4 He married on 12 September 1815, Ede Hayes, daughter of David Hayes and Rachel Dean.2 Ede was born in ConnecticutG in 1795.5
     Simmons was listed in the census in 1820, 1830 and 1840 as a householder in Canfield, Trumbull County, OhioG.6,7,8
     Simmons was taxed on four lots of land totalling 164 acres in CanfieldG in 1830.9
