Catherine Sackett, daughter of William Sackett and Catherine Sargeant, was born in Orsett, EssexG, on 14 December 1798 and baptized there on 13 January 1799.1 She married at St Andrew's by the Wardrobe Church, Holborn, London City, MiddlesexG, on 28 April 1826, Richard James.2,3
     In 1871 Catherine's widower Richard was living at Mill Lane, Orsett, EssexG, and was recorded in the census as Richard James, a farmer, a widower, head of household, aged 77, and born in Orsett. Also in the household were Catherine's unmarried sister Martha, who was housekeeper, and a 13-year-old female general servant.4
