Robert Tomlin, son of Robert Sackett Tomlin and Elizabeth Anne Bankes, was born in St Peter in Thanet, KentG, on 4 April 18221,2 and baptized at St Peter in ThanetG on 14 May 1822.1 He died aged 48 in ThanetG on 12 December 1870.3
     In 1841 Robert was living at The Hall, Great Abington, CambridgeshireG, in the household of his parents Robert and Elizabeth, and was recorded in the census as Robert Tomlin, aged 19 and born not in Cambridgeshire.4
