Benjamin Sackett, son of Deacon & Captain Justus Sacket and Lydia Newcomb, was born in Kent (later Warren), Litchfield County, ConnecticutG, on 28 July 1762.1,2 He died aged 81 in WarrenG on 14 July 18442 and was buried at Warren Center CemeteryG.3,4,5,6 He married first in WarrenG on 21 November 1782, Betty Eldred.2,7 She was born in ConnecticutG in about 1761.8 She died aged 58 on 9 March 18192,9 and was buried at the Old Cemetery, WarrenG.10 He married second in WarrenG on 5 October 1819, Mercy Gaylord.2,11 She died in 1856.12
     Benjamin Sacket served as a soldier in the American Revolutionary War. In August 1778 he was a Private in Enos' Regiment, Connecticut State Troops.13,14
     In 1790 Benjamin was living in Warren, Litchfield County, ConnecticutG. In his household were one man, three boys, and three females.15
     Benjamin and Betsey were admitted to the Congregational Church of Christ, WarrenG, on 22 December 1799. Benjamin was listed as a pew holder there in 1816 and 1822.16,17
     Benjamin was listed in the census in 1800 and 1810 as a householder in WarrenG.18,19
     Benjamin was listed in the 1841 census of Revolutionary War pensioners. At the reference date of 1 June 1840, he was living in WarrenG and was aged 78.20
     Benjamin died intestate. His sons, Justus and Benjamin Jr, were appointed as administrators on 22 July 1844 by the Court of Probate, Litchfield, to compile an inventory of estate. The gross value of the estate was some $2,900, including $2,250 for Benjamin's half-share of a 180-acre farm.21
     In 1850 Benjamin's widow Mercy was living in WarrenG in the household of her stepson Benjamin and his wife Thalia, and was recorded in the census as Mercey Sackett, aged 71 and born in Connecticut.22

655. Benjamin Sacket, 1762–1844, of Warren, Litchfield County, Conn., son of (203) Capt. Justus Sacket, was married Nov. 22, 1782, to Betsey Eldred, who died Mar. 9, 1819. On Oct. 5, 1819 he was married to his second wife Mary Gaylord, who died in 1856. He was a soldier in war of the Revolution, serving in Capt. David Olmstead's Company, of Col. Enas' Regiment. His name appears on pension rolls of 1832 and 1840 as a resident of Warren, Conn.
