Anna Sackett

Anna Sackett, daughter of Jonathan Sacket and Hannah Phelps, was born in Kent, Connecticut^G, on 27 June 1751.^1,2 She died aged 92 in Addison, Vermont^G, on 6 February 1844³ and was buried at Hoisington Cemetery, Westport, Essex County, New York State^G.⁴ She married in Kent, Connecticut^G, on 21 April 1768, Joel Finney, son of John Finney and Rachel Woodward.⁵ Joel was born in Hebron, Tolland County, Connecticut^G, on 1 September 1744⁶ and died aged about 54 in Monkton, Addison County, Vermont^G, in 1798.⁷
     Anna lived in her later years with her son Anson Finney in Elizabethtown, Essex County, New York State^G. She died in Addison, Vermont, while visiting relatives.
     At her death, Anna was survived by 271 descendants. Anna's 4th great-granddaughter Judy Allen has in her possession her great-grandfather's diary in which it is recorded that, at Anna's funeral, a statement was read out that she was the mother of 14 children, of whom 6 were living, 82 grandchildren, of whom 57 were living, 240 great-grandchildren, of whom 188 were living, and 22 great-great-grandchildren, of whom 20 were living.³
