George Sackett, son of Thomas Sackett the elder and Joane ___, was born, presumably in Thanet, KentG, in about 1565. He died in St Peter in Thanet, KentG, on 26 March 16121 and was buried at St Peter's ChurchG, on 29 March 1612.1 He was described in the burials register as a 'poor man', presumably indicating that he had been maintained by the parish. He married at St Peter's Church, ThanetG, on 15 January 1589/90, Katherine Tompson.2 She died in St Peter in ThanetG,3 and was buried at St Peter's ChurchG, on 8 December 1624.3
     George was named as a beneficiary in his father's will made in St Peter in ThanetG, on 30 March 1594.4 He was left £12 in money and various chattels, his brother Thomas as the elder son inheriting his father's tenement and lands.
