MotherAlice ___ (say 1555-1594)
Richard Sackett, son of Edward Sackett and Alice ___, was baptized at St Peter in Thanet, KentG, on 6 January 1583/84.1 He died aged about 56 and was buried at St John in ThanetG on 5 June 1640.2
Richard was named as a beneficiary in his father's will made at St Lawrence in ThanetG on 20 October 1624.3 He was left £4 plus land in the parish of St John in Thanet for life with reversion to his children if any. Richard would have been 40 at the time of his father's will and the reference to "children if any" suggests that he was then unmarried and childless. No subsequent marriage record nor record of children have been found.
Richard was most likely the "cousin" Richard Sackett appointed overseer of the will of 1633 of his brother-in-law Valentine Austen.4
