Samuel Sharpless, son of George Sharpless and Anna Sackett, was born in Bridgeport, Belmont County, OhioG, on 1 November 1822.1 He died aged 78 in IowaG on 5 June 1901.1 He married in 1857, Priscilla F (Crain) Smith, daughter of Andrew Crain and Sarah Gaddis.1

(Crain) Smith, daughter of Andrew and Sarah (Gaddis) Crain and widow of the Rev. Mr. Smith. Samuel Sharpless was a prominent banker of Iowa City, Ia. There was no issue of this marriage."
