Peter James Sackett, son of Salvatore Seghetti/Sackett and Annunziata "Nancy" Leone, was born in Footedale, German Township, Fayette County, PennsylvaniaG, on 16 October 1914.1,2 He died aged 69 in Lorain, Lorain County, OhioG, on 22 March 1984 and was buried at St Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Amherst, Lorain CountyG.3,4,5,6,7 He married in AmherstG in 1946, Margaret Eleanor Bogardey, daughter of Frank Bogardey and Rose Soditch.8 Margaret was born in OhioG on 1 October 1915.3 She died aged 65 in Lorain CountyG on 13 August 1981 and was buried at St Joseph Catholic Cemetery, AmherstG.3,9,10
In 1920 Peter was living at New Salem Road, Menallen, Fayette County, PennsylvaniaG, in the household of his parents Sam [Salvatore] and Rosy [Annunziata], and was recorded in the census as Pete Sackett, aged six and born in Pennsylvania.11
In 1930 he was living at 113 Waverly Avenue, Elyria, Lorain County, OhioG, in the household of his father Joseph [Salvatore] and stepmother Barbara, and was recorded as Peter Sacketta [sic], aged 17.12
In 1940 he was living at 50 North Lake Street, South Amherst, Lorain CountyG, in the household of his sister Mary and brother-in-law Rocco Condito, and was recorded as Peter Sackett, a machine operator in a screw machine factory, aged 25.13
Peter served in the US Army during the Second World War, enlisting in the National Guard in Elyria, Lorain County, OhioG, on 25 September 1940. He was discharged on 21 July 1945.14,6 Margaret also served in the US Army during the Second World War, enlisting on 1 September 1943 and being discharged on 13 July 1945.10,15
In 1950 Peter was living at Erie Street, South Amherst, Lorain CountyG, and was recorded in the census as Peter J Sackett, a bricklayer and contractor, aged 35. His wife Margaret, 34, was living with him.16

Pete Sackett is a cool and collected golfer, almost.
The Amherst resident, playing in the Elyria City League at Cherry Ridge Country Club last night, walked off the par three No. 3 hole and calmly stuck up one finger to his partners.
He had scored the first hole-in-one of his links career, using nine-iron on the 130-yard hole.
Without the usual hollering and excitement, he treated his playing mates after the game and went home, seemingly unaffected by the entire event.
Upon reaching home, however, the building contractor couldn't find his clubs. A call to the country club revealed he had left them standing in the parking lot – cart and all.
