Henry Sackett Hogbin, son of Henry Sackett Hogbin and Susanna Elizabeth Head, was born in Ramsgate, KentG, in 1860.1,2 He was baptized at St George, Deal, KentG, on 29 June 1873.3 He married in Greenwich, LondonG, in 1890, Mary Elizabeth Rutt.4 Mary was born in Islington, LondonG, in about 1860.1
In 1861 Henry was living at Wellington Cottage, RamsgateG, in the household of his parents Henry and Susanna, and was recorded in the census as Henry Hogbin, aged five months and born in Ramsgate.5
In 1871 he was living at 18 Strand, Walmer, KentG, in the household of his grandparents Henry and Emily, and was recorded as Henry Hogbin, aged ten. He was living with his widowed father Henry.6
In 1891 Henry was living at 22 Sunninghill Road, Lewisham, LondonG, and was recorded in the census as Henry S Hogbin, a tea merchant, aged 30. Living with him were his wife Mary, 30, and their daughter Florence, aged one.7
