Herman George Sackett, son of George Carl Sackett and Emma Bella Leizert, was born in Rush, Monroe County, New York StateG, on 14 June 1920.1,2 He died aged 71 on 19 August 1991 and was buried at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Geneseo, Livingston County, New York StateG.2,3,4 He married in Avon, Livingston CountyG, on 6 September 1947, Mildred B Steffen, daughter of Raymond C Steffen and Florence Lena Roundtree.5 Mildred was born in New York StateG on 1 March 1929.3 She died aged 87 in AvonG on 14 April 2016 and was buried at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, GeneseoG.3
     In 1930 Herman was living in Lima, Livingston CountyG, in the household of his parents George and Emma, and was recorded in the census as Herman Sackett, aged nine and born in New York.6
     In 1940 he was living at Crouse Road, LimaG, in the household of his parents George and Emma, and was recorded as Herman G Sackett, a farm laborer, aged 19.7
     Herman completed a World War II draft registration card on 1 July 1941. He was aged 21 and was employed by his father George. He was living in LimaG.8
     In 1950 he was living in LimaG and was recorded as Herman G Sackett, aged 29, a truck driver for Lima road maintenance. Living with him were his wife Mildred, 21, and their daughter Beverly, aged one.9

     Avon: On April 14, 2016 at age 87. Predeceased by her husband, Herman; her brother, Harold Rountree and niece, Bonnie Pef?ey. She is survived by her children, Beverly (Michael) Hallett, Raymond (Donna) Sackett, Suanne (Jim) Kretchmer; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at the Avon Nursing Home for their wonderful care of Mildred.
