Howard Joseph Sackett, son of Joseph Hunting Sackett and Idella Dillavou, was born in New York CityG on 26 May 1892.1,2 He died aged 69 on 7 October 1961 and was buried at East Lawn Cemetery, Urbana, Champaign County, IllinoisG.3 He married in Champaign County, IllinoisG, in 1915, Bessie May Wagy, daughter of William H Wagy and Florence Ward.4 Bessie was born in IllinoisG in about 1895.1
     In 1920 he was living at West Charles Street, Champaign, IllinoisG, and was recorded as J Howard Sackett, a furniture merchant, self-employed, head of household, aged 28. He rented his home. Living with him were his wife Bess, 25, and their son Howard Jr, aged two.5
     Howard was listed in the Champaign-Urbana City Directory from 1927. He was employed by the University of Illinois, ChampaignG, from 1931 and in the 1950s was a steam fitter there.6
     In 1930 he was living at Green Street, Urbana, Champaign CountyG, and was recorded as Howard J Sackett, a machinist at the University of Illinois, head of household, aged 36. He owned his home. Living with him were his wife Bess, 34, and their son Joseph, aged eleven.7
     Howard completed a World War II draft registration card in April 1942. He was aged 49 and was employed at the University of Illinois. He was living at 1268 East Green Street, Urbana, Champaign CountyG.8
