Daniel Clay Speers, son of James B Speers and Lydia Jane Sackett, was born in McLean County, IllinoisG, in April 1878.1 He died aged 63 on 27 November 1941.1
     In 1880 Daniel was living in West, McLean County, IllinoisG, in the household of his parents James and Lydia, and was recorded in the census as Daniel C Spears, aged two and born in Illinois.2
     In 1900 he was living in Mound, Rock County, MinnesotaG, in the household of his parents James and Lydia, and was recorded as Clay Speers, a farm laborer, aged 22.3
