Helen Sackett, daughter of Samuel Sacofsky/Sackett and Rebecca Lipsher, was born in Brooklyn, New York CityG, on 29 August 1903.1 She died aged 64 in GeorgiaG on 24 December 19672 and was buried at the Hebrew Sick Benefit Association Cemetery, FairfieldG.3 She married in about 1926, Carl Mayer. Carl was born in GermanyG in about 1895.4
     In 1910 Helen was living at Main Street, Bridgeport, Fairfield County, ConnecticutG, in the household of her parents Samuel and Rebecca, and was recorded in the census as Hellen Sackett, aged six and born in New York.5
     In 1920 she was living at Connecticut Avenue, Bridgeport, Fairfield County, ConnecticutG, in the household of her parents Samuel and Rebecca, and was recorded as Helen Sackett, aged 17. Carl Mayer, a boarder in the household, was to become Helen's husband.6
     In 1922 Helen was attending Bridgeport High SchoolG.7
     In 1930 she was living at Lake Street, Stratford, Fairfield County, ConnecticutG, in the household of her husband Carl, 34, a garage proprietor, and was recorded as Helen Mayer, aged 25. They rented their home. Living with them were their son Richard, aged two, Helen's widowed father Samuel Sackett, 46, and her brothers, Sidney, 17, and Herbert, aged nine.8
