Benjamin Joseph Sackett, son of Smith T Sackett and Mary Jane Winters, was born in Stanford, Dutchess County, New York StateG, on 25 December 1899.1,2,3 He died aged 81 in Millbrook, Dutchess County, New York StateG, in November 1981.4,5 He married in Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County, New York StateG, on 30 April 1923, Ruth Millie Spencer.6 Ruth was born in New York StateG in about 19041 and died aged 69 in Poughkeepsie, Dutchess CountyG, in April 1974.5
     In 1900 Benjamin was living in Stanford, Dutchess County, New York StateG, in the household of his parents Smith and Mary, and was recorded in the census as Benjamin J Sackett, aged five months and born in New York State.7
     In 1910 he was living in StanfordG in the household of his parents Smith and Mary, and was recorded as Benjamin J Sackett, aged ten and born in New York State.8
     Benjamin completed a World War I draft registration card on 12 September 1918. He was aged 18 and was living at Clinton Corners, Clinton, Dutchess County, New York StateG. He was employed as a farmer.9
     In 1920 he was living at Hibernia Road, Washington, Dutchess CountyG, in the household of his widowed mother Mary, and was recorded as Benjamin J Sackett, aged 20 and born in New York State.10
     In 1930 he was living at Shunpike Road, Washington, Dutchess County, New York StateG, and was recorded as Benjamin J Sackett, a farm laborer, head of household, aged 29. Living with him were his wife Ruth, 25, and their children, Benjamin, 5, Edna, 4, and Charles, aged one.11
     In 1940 Ruth was living in Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County, New York StateG, and was recorded as Ruth Sackett, head of household, aged 34. Living with her were her children, Edna, 14, Joseph, 10, Frederick, 7, Anna, 5, and James, aged two. There was also a male lodger in the household.12
