Zaven Sackett, son of John Sackett and Eunice Leffingwell, was born in Ashtabula County, OhioG, in 1832.1 He died aged about 52 in 1884.1 He married in Kendall County, IllinoisG, on 10 September 1856, Sarah Jane Gifford.1
     In 1860 Zaven was living in Makee, Allamakee County, IowaG, and was recorded in the census as Laven [sic] Sacket, a teamster, aged 28 and born in Ohio. Living with him were his wife Sarah J, 27, their daughter Lucretia, aged two, and a ten-year-old C Sacket.2
     In 1870 he was living in Decorah, Winneshiek County, IowaG, and was recorded as Zavin Sacket, an omnibus driver, aged 39 and born in Pennsylvania. Living with him were his wife Jane, 37, and their daughter Lucretia, aged 12. Also in the household was a female domestic servant.3
