     In 1860 Marvin was living in Stratford, Fairfield County, ConnecticutG, in the household of John Smith, a boat builder, and was recorded in the census as Marvin Sackett, aged 15 and born in Connecticut.4
     Marvin, then of Trumbull, Fairfield CountyG, served in the American Civil War in the 12th Infantry, Connecticut Volunteers.1,5,6
     In 1900 he was living in Salisbury, Litchfield County, ConnecticutG, and was recorded as Marvin H Sackett, a laborer, head of household, aged 54 and born in Connecticut. Living with him were his wife Maria, 54, their daughter Estella, 13, and their grandson Chester, aged 15.7
     In 1910 he was living at Factory Street, Salisbury, Litchfield CountyG, and was recorded as Marvin Sackett, a laborer, head of household, aged 65. He owned his home on a mortgage. Living with him were his wife Maria, 64, and their unmarried daughter Stella, 24.8
     In 1920 Marvin's widow Maria was living at Factory Street, Salisbury, Litchfield CountyG, and was recorded in the census as Maria Sackett, head of household, a widow, aged 74. Living with her was her unmarried daughter Estella, 34.9
