Eugene Sackett, son of Oramel E Sackett and Jane ___, was born in New York StateG in October 1857.1 He married in about 1878, Mary E ___.1 Mary was born in New York StateG in January 1859.1
     In 1860 Eugene was living in Afton, Chenango County, New York StateG, in the household of his parents Oramel and Jane, and was recorded in the census as Eugene Sacket, aged three and born in New York.2
     In 1870 he was living in AftonG in the household of his parents Oramel and Jane, and was recorded as Eugene Sackett, aged 12.3
     In 1880 he was living in AftonG in the household of his parents Oramel and Jane, and was recorded as Eugene Sackett, a blacksmith, aged 22 and born in New York. Living with him were his wife Mary, 21, and their seven-month-old daughter Gilpha.4
     In 1900 he was living in AftonG and was recorded as Eugene Sackett, a blacksmith, head of household, aged 42 and born in New York. He owned his home free of mortgage. Living with him were his wife Mary, 41, and their children, Chester, 15, and Florence, aged 13. Also in the household was a blacksmith's laborer.5
