Mary Sackett Watson Horton, daughter of John Horton and Mary Fowler, was born in St Peter in Thanet, KentG, on 7 June 1776 and baptized at St Peter's ChurchG on 23 July 1776.1 She died aged 922 and was buried at St Mary Magdalene Church, Monkton, KentG, on 19 January 1869.3 She married at St John in Thanet, KentG, on 17 November 1798, Josiah Adams, son of William Adams and Ann Lyon.4
     In 1841 Mary was living at Princes Street, Margate, KentG, and was recorded in the census as Mary Adams, aged 65+ and born in Kent. Living with her was her daughter Martha, aged 20+.5
