Alfred Hogbin Adams, son of Frederick Hogbin Adams and Emma Stark, was born in Monkton, KentG, on 8 December 1867.1
     In 1871 Herbert, Edward, Emma, Alfred and Arthur was living at the New Inn, Monkton Street, MonktonG, in the household of his parents Frederick and Emma, and was recorded in the census as Alfred H Adams, aged three and born in Monkton.2
     In 1881 he was living at the New Inn, Main Road, MonktonG, in the household of his widowed mother Emma, and was recorded as Alfred Adams, a scholar, aged 13 and born in Monkton.3
