Samuel Sperry, son of Miles Sperry and Sophie Earl, was born in PennsylvaniaG in about 1811.1 He married in about 1834, Mary Colley Pennington.2 Mary was born in PennsylvaniaG in about 1809.1
     In 1850 Samuel was living in Davidson Township, Sullivan County, PennsylvaniaG, and was recorded in the census as Samuel Sperry, a farmer, aged 39 and born in Pennsylvania. The value of his real estate was $500. Living with him were his wife Mary, 41, and their children, Fletcher, 15, Thebe, 13, John, 12, Benjamin, 11, Charles, 8, and Mary, aged five.3
