Richard Jefferson Sackett, son of Thomas Jefferson Sackett and Lucina "Sina" Tyler, was born in Potter, Yates County, New York StateG, on 1 November 1823.1 He died aged 39 on 15 September 18631 and was buried at Rushville Cemetery, Yates CountyG.1 He married in Yates CountyG on 15 December 1846, Lydia Barber, daughter of Jeremiah Barber and Anna Van Zandt.1
     In 1870 Lydia was living in Potter, Yates County, New York StateG, with her second husband Cephas Isham, 55, a stonemason. She was listed as Lydia Isham, aged 48. Living with them were her children, Anna, 18, Minnie, 11, and Richard, aged six.2
     In 1880 she was living in Manchester, Ontario County, New York StateG, and was listed as Lydia Sackett, a carpet weaver and laundress, head of household, a widow, aged 57. Her daughter Mahala Cornish, 21, was living with her, with her children, Edwin, 4, and Alida, aged two.3
